Justin Sun Reveals The Launch Date For New USDT Tron-Based Stablecoin And Gets Ready For The Layer 2 Scalability Solution

During a brand new episode of Crypto Chick Podcast, Tron’s founder Justin Sun offered details on the recent USDT Tron stablecoin announcement and also addressed his Twitter battle with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.

A new USDT coin on Tron’s network

He addressed the importance of stablecoins which lays in the fact that they’re tied to fiat and not exposed to the market volatility.

You may recall that back in March, Tron (TRX) teamed up with Tether in order to issue a new USDT coin on Tron’s network.

Justin Sun revealed that the coin is set for launch on April 9th which is two days from now.

The new TRC20-based USDT will support Tron’s growing network of DApps including its popular gaming and gambling DApps.

“The stablecoin is the most important thing when we come to the infrastructure and the whole industry. I think this partnership means to the industry that in the future the USDT will be more reliable, faster and cheaper.”

Tron vs. Ethereum

Sun also addressed his online battle with Vitalik Buterin but said that he welcomes competition with open arms.

“We all know that Tron and Ethereum are competing in the DApp obsession, for sure, but I think that definitely produces a better product. So I think the competition between the Ethereum and the Tron benefits the whole industry, benefits all the DApp developers, benefits the DApp users as well.”

Sun also said that Tron would launch its layer-2 scalability solution in Q2.

He highlighted that this means 100 times more scalability. He said that the fees would also decrease dramatically which is good news for developers and users as well.

In other news, CoinDesk announced that Tron‘s Justin Sun would be a speaker at its event Consensus 2019.

Sun also confirmed the news by posting it on his Twitter account and the Tron community became really excited.
