XRP enthusiasts get another good news. It seems that their favorite digital asset has taken yet another step towards mainstream adoption.
Uquid is a startup that allows customers to pay for goods and services with digital assets and they have recently announced that customers will be able to use XRP for payments.
This is one other step towards adoption after a lot of other important achievements.
XRP holders will not have to convert their favorite token to other coins or fiat currencies in order to buy groceries or top up their phone number, as reported by UToday.
Instant mobile recharge with Ripple’s digital asset will be possible in more than 150 countries.
The service will support 600 operators including Vodafone, AT&T and more.
Other services will reportedly be available in separate countries.
For instance, only residents of Indonesia will be able to pay for their insurance and electricity bills with the help of XRP.
UToday notes that this announcement was not highlighted enough by the media despite the fact that it’s definitely a big deal for consumer adoption.
There’s no other service that allows paying for utilities with XRP at the moment.
XRP is definitely on its way to mainstream adoption. You probably recall that the digital asset has been recently integrated into WooCommerce which powers about 3.3 million online stores.
More than that, it’s also been intreated into Microsoft Outlook and Gmail as well.
We recently reported that the XRP community is asking Skype to consider integrating the digital asset for micro-payments.
