The Latest Self-Proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto Reveals His Identity

We recently reported that another man is claiming that he’s Satoshi Nakamoto, the inventor of Bitcoin.

The company, called Satoshi Nakamoto Renaissance (SNR) Holdings promised that Satoshi would finally break his silence and prove his identity, writes the online publication the Daily Hodl.

An official press release noted that “After a decade of anonymity, Satoshi Nakamoto will break his silence in Part I of his ‘My Reveal’ Sunday, August 18th, at 4:00 p.m. EDT…”

He was supposed to publish the first article on the official website in which he began the proving session, and he did exactly this.

In this part 1 of “My Reveal”, he said that he grew up in Pakistan and that his father worked at United Bank Limited, a Pakistani multinational bank based in Karachi.

The man said that he was deeply affected when the UK’s central bank shut down Pakistan’s scandal-ridden Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) in 1991, as well as the global financial collapse and great recession that began in 2008.

The goal: allowing regular people to access money without big banks

“On a personal level, when I visited the UK in 2005, no bank would open its doors for me to give me access to a bank account because I didn’t have a permanent UK address. Without a bank account, I had no access to online facilities, and I didn’t know how to overcome this obstacle…” he writes.

He continues and details: “I felt like a failure and was humiliated by the banks so I made it my mission to invent something that would enable a common layperson to access money without involving the big banks. I wanted to empower the poor person, empower the little man, and create something that was accessible as the people’s money.”

“Satoshi Nakamoto” reveals his real name

He studied cryptography and he said that he began building BTC with Hal Finney back in 2006.

The computer scientist passed away back in 2014.

He also posted an image of the computer that he claims he used to mine BTC.

Head over to the official website and check out his reveal because it’s more than interesting.

Today, he revealed the name and identity of Nakamoto: “My birth name is Bilal Khalid. I used that name to register the domain name theBCCI.net on the 18th of November 2008. I’ve since changed my legal forename and surname to James Caan.”

His full name is James Bilal Khalid Caan.
