More and more crypto titans have been dedicating money and resources to use the blockchain tech as a potent force for social change.
First of all, Ripple just revealed its social impact program called Ripple for Good which is a new commitment to support projects that are related to fintech and education.
Secondly, it seems that Binance and Tron are working together in order to reveal a brand new initiative to support the United Nations.
Ripple for Good
Ripple for Good donations will be around $100 million. The company aims to drive innovation in STEM and fintech and support adoption of blockchain and crypto via the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) which is a collaboration with universities from all over the world.
This should result in accelerated academic research, enhanced tech developments, and blockchain-related innovations.
The nonprofit will be focusing on innovation in finance and business, computer science, law, and policy, among others. It will support real-world use cases with the high potential to scale and shape social change.
“Our goal is to deliver on the promise of an Internet of Value for all,” says Ken Weber, head of the social impact for Ripple.
It has worked on 70 projects from 55 countries so far to improve the lives of more than three million patients, six million students, and over 250 million people.
Binance and Tron support the UN
Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, announced the launch of Blockchain Charity Foundation (BCF), a not-for-profit organization that aims to achieve the UN 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the use of blockchain technology.
