We’re living some exciting moment in the crypto-verse right now. For the third time in September, XRP (XRP) surpassed Ethereum (ETH) over the weekend, but only for a brief period. However, Ripple’s XRP is getting closer to outperform Ethereum (ETH) and secure second place in the crypto market.
XRP (XRP) experienced a significant spike in its price against the US Dollar less than a couple of weeks ago. The Ripple’s token is keeping its surging trend, overall, and is getting closer than ever to outperform Ethereum (ETH) by market capitalization and secure the second place in the crypto market.
At the moment of this writing, XRP (XRP) has a market cap of $23,135,329,737, while Ethereum (ETH) sums up $23,505,221,158. Accordingly, Ripple’s XRP is only about $400 million behind the ETH which, for the moment keeps the second position in the market behind the Bitcoin (BTC).
But according to some analysts, Ethereum (ETH) is going to recover leaving XRP (XRP) behind.
Will XRP (XRP) outperform Ethereum (ETH) and secure the second place in the crypto market?
At the moment of this article, XRP (XRP) trades at $0.580, dropping back by about 4.4% in the last 24 hours. On the other hand, Ethereum (ETH) is not performing better the Ripple’s token, as it’s trading at $229.77 after decreasing by 2.33% in the past day.
As for the trading volume of the two digital assets, over the last 24 hours, XRP (XRP) sums about $1,25 billion, while ETH totals approximately $1,7 billion.
Everything suggests that XRP (XRP) is getting closer to outperform Ethereum (ETH) and secure the second place in the crypto market. However, some analysts believe that ETH will recover and keep its place in the market.
One of these experts is the Fundstrat CEO Tom Lee who stated that “Ethereum (ETH) is about to stage a trend reversal and rally strongly.”
On the other hand, XRP (XRP) is backed up by the bullish news coming from Ripple and xRapid, among others, which could boost the asset’s price further.
While we can’t know what would happen at the end, witnessing the race between XRP and ETH is exciting.
